Show Notes
You’re listening to episode number 82. Never Give up on Yourself: The Journey of Learning your own Self Worth
In this episode I get to talk with Marti Bruening. Marti has spent the last 20+ years exploring various forms of personal growth and healing and believes strongly that women supporting other women is essential to restoring balance in our challenging world. A key component to healing is recognizing that our worth is inherent – no matter our station in life, paycheck, relationship or family status, number of friends, religious affiliation, race, sexual orientation, or number on the scale.
Marti moved to Colorado in 1995 from Texas at the age of 18 and is now a wife to Josh and mom to 9-year-old Amara. She telecommutes for a large non-profit research institute as a proposal manager. She received her B.A. in Journalism from Colorado State University, has taught indoor cycling for 15 years, leads virtual meditation groups for her co-workers, and is also a volunteer with Moms Demand Action.
In this episode we talk about Marti’s history with alcohol abuse and eating and body issues, as well as her divorce. We talk through her road to recovery and journey to learning her own worth. Marti has a powerful story that she vulnerably shares with us. She encourages our listeners to never give up on themselves. I have no doubt that it will be so helpful for those of you who are listening!
Remember: Never give up on yourself!
