In this episode I get to talk with Sonya Burgess. Sonya is a preschool teacher by day and also a part time blogger for her own site. She is also a regular blogger for The We Spot. She blogs about creating a home you love, simply and on a budget. Sonya loves sharing ways to help with special needs children, recipes and DIY’s. She lives in coastal North Carolina with her husband of 24 years and three children. After trying for 5 years they finally received an Autism diagnosis for her 12 year old son.
In this episode we talk a lot about her journey through getting a diagnosis for him and all the advocacy work she did along the way. We also talk about what it’s like to parent a child on the autism spectrum. This episode is packed with so much valuable information for all parents!
